Chickpea’s Guide to Holiday Gifts + Black Friday

November _ 19

Fashion, Lifestyle

It’s that time! Now that it’s officially Black Friday and Thanksgiving has come to an end, it’s time for some good old holiday shopping. I personally think it’s somewhat ridiculous Black Friday sales started this past Tuesday and go through next Monday. I’ve been bombarded with sales all week long that I won’t even lie I’m somewhat overwhelmed by it all. However, I have seen some great deals (and even better gifts) that I’ll be sharing today.

Last year I waited until the last minute (maybe 3 days before Christmas?) to get my gifts when I was home with my brother in Cleveland. This year, I’ll be getting ahead instead so I can have as stress-free of a holiday season as possible.

I’ve rounded up my favorite sites below and places I shop quite often, my favorite items from them, if they’re doing Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales and just great gift ideas in general. I personally think it’s too overwhelming to do MULTIPLE gift guides for your friend, for your mom, for the guy in your life, etc. That’s why I’m just rolling it all into one! I will share all of my favorites on my Instagram as well and under my “gift ideas” Instagram highlight so look there for more goodness. I’ll be breaking it down in my blog post by gifts under specific prices rather than wellness, home, etc so you know what to look for if you’re under a budget. I hope you guys enjoy and at the end of the day, there’s no need to stress about gifting and shopping. The best part about the holidays is being grateful for what you have and who you’re able to spend time with. Although I won’t lie I’m quite excited about the gifts I’m giving my boyfriend and brother… 😉

BLACK FRIDAY DEALS

Alice & Wonder  – 20% off everything with code “HEYSANTA”
One of my favorite little boutiques in Alice & Wonder, located in Lincoln Park if you live in Chicago, also has their retail available online. They have some of the cutest clothes (they sell some Free People items) including this sequin mini dress for New Year’s, this sparkly tank (another good option for the holidays to dress up some jeans) and the cutest holiday movie quote beer glasses.

Crate & Barrel – 20 to 30% off
I’m a sucker for good home appliances, dishware, etc. You can grab this Cuisinart Toaster Oven and these pretty little NutriBullet Blender (under $100!) for 20% off with code SAVE20

Rebekah Gough Jewelry – 30% off with code HOLIDAY30
I just bought this “homebody” necklace for myself because I’ve been dying for a nameplate style necklace for a minute… and I bought one of my best friends one, too! Love supporting small businesses as well.

Nordstrom – Up to 50%
So many things… but these Matte Black Camo leggings (what’s good) and a ton of Free People clothes like this tunic are 50% off! Hello!

Loft – 50% off with code “FRIYAY”
The best spot for sweaters for the winter. Three years ago I got a ton of stuff from Loft during their Black Friday sale and still love it all. This sweater is going in my cart along with the best blanket scarf EVER. Seriously Loft is my go-to for winter scarves at a cheap price.

Anthropologie – 30% off
This sequin skirt (clearly I’m very into sequins as of right now) and the cutest accessories including this braided headband

Madewell – 30% off with code “GIFTWELL”
I’d wear everything Madewell if I could. They do sales pretty often it feels like (similar to J.Crew) so this isn’t that big of a splurge in my opinion but still a good sale! I love this chunky leopard sweater, a velvet wrap top perfect for Christmas dinner and the best mules ever (I’d live in Madewell’s shoes if I could.. And I do).

American Eagle – 40% off + Free Shipping!
So many good sherpa jackets, hoodies… oh and this plaid button down coat HELLO!

Four Sigmatic Latte Collection – Use code “CHICKPEA” for a discount and on Black Friday, up to 50% off!  You also get $20 product credit when you spend over $100.

KitchenAid – Up to 35%  on Countertop Appliances
If you want a stand mixer.. Now’s the time!

Alo Yoga – Up to 70% off
I personally don’t own anything from yoga but a ton of my yoga instructor friends swear by it – I really want their slides (I’ve heard 10/10 reviews about) and their sherpa pullover. Ah!

Beyond Yoga – 30% off
The comfiest leggings you’ll ever put on that feel like butter. I used to have a ton of these in college.

Beautycounter — 15% sitewide until 12/2
I’ve been using Beautycounter’s skincare and makeup for over two years and can’t get enough. You can click the link above to shop through me. This sale ends Monday and includes most of their site, excluding their regimens and skincare collections.

Ned – My favorite CBD line!
Ned now has holiday gift sets which include their cbd body butter/salve, the hemp oil and their lip balm (use code CHICKPEA for 15% off after Black Friday and BF40 for $40 off orders over $200 on Black Friday). I couldn’t rave about it enough! It also would make for a great stocking stuffer.

Abercrombie – 50% off
My love for Abercrombie has run deep in the last two years since I bought my gray peacoat during the holidays in 2017 for $100 and never looked back. Their stuff is highly underrated like this mini faux-fur puffer coat… hi!

Mejuri – 10% off 1 item, 20% off 2, and 30% off 3+
So many of my friends are addicted to Mejuri’s pieces and for good reason.. They’re 14k gold and relatively affordable prices! They rarely do sales so this is huge.

Walmart – Up to 40% off Home appliances!
I never really think of checking out Walmart for steals but you guys… COME ON! Their sales on electronics and home appliances are unbeatable. Air fryers, vacuums… Dyson I see you. Here are some of my favorites: 6-Quart 4-in-1 Air Fryer ($50),  Dyson V7 Motorhead Origin Cord-Free Vacuum ($179), KitchenAid 4.5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer (Silver) ($200), KitchenAid 7 Cup Food Processor ($65)

Outdoor Voices – 25% off
I live in my MegaFleece and my Athena crop bra… the best ever.

General Gift Ideas (beyond Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend):

Under $500:

This Vitamix E310 Blender – Under $300 for Black Friday
I’ve had my Vitamix (no idea what model it is) since January 2013 (my mom got it for me for my 18th birthday on a discount) and I absolutely love it. It’s been through war and back, is stained and has probably made 100+ acai bowls and still works. I absolutely love it.

My favorite noise-cancelling headphones – I got these from my dad for Christmas last year and honestly… if you’re a music lover, you NEED. Best quality headphones and I love them far more than Beats!

Vitruvi Porcelain Essential Oil Diffuser – I’m such a fan of essential oils over candles since they last longer, don’t need to be blown out and you can mix and match scents. This diffuser is perfect for the essential-oil-lover in your life and comes in multiple colors. I want one!

The best linen duvet cover – This is on sale through Black Friday weekend for 20% off and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I have Parachute’s duvet cover and 2 pillowcases and my bed has never been cozier.

Vibrating Fitness Foam Roller – I’ve wanted a vibrating foam roller/massage ball roller (like a Hyperrice or Theragun) for fooorever but they’re so pricey that I haven’t gone through with it.. Just yet. This would be a phenomenal gift for the athlete in your life.

Under $100:

Ned Cycle Collection – Ned recently just launched their hemp oil collection that is focused primarily on women and their hormones. It includes four different products that have both full spectrum hemp oil and botanicals in them. The entire collection is made by women, for women. Lovely stocking stuffer for the woman in your life! Use code “CHICKPEA15” for a lil discount.

Counter+ Skin Favorites – Beautycounter’s holiday sets are here and they’re the easiest gift for someone who loves skincare products and is trying to switch to nontoxic beauty. I love that this set includes the overnight resurfacing peel as it’s low-key my favorite beauty product.

Four Sigmatic Latte Collection  – My faaaaavorite single serve latte mixes, elixirs, adaptogens and hot cacao! Everything this brand sells is phenomenal especially their organic instant coffee mixes with chaga and cordyceps. Use code “CHICKPEA” for a discount!

Atelier Cologne – My mom and I first bought the cologne at a Bloomingdale’s in California probably in 2014..? We had never heard of it and they were doing a sampling and now it’s legitimately my favorite perfume.

This camouflage fleece pullover (Lou & Grey) – I want camo everything basically.

The comfiest leggings for under $100 – I love Beyond Yoga and when I can find them on a sale… I’m here for it.

Under $50:

This oversized turtleneck sweater (American Eagle) – You really can’t go wrong with anything American Eagle in the pajama department (Aerie) for the holidays. I love their hoodies, pajama shorts and sweaters for men and women. So many good steals, always!

Limited Edition Eye Sparklers Eye Shadow Palette – An eyeshadow palette perfect for the holidays and another ideal stocking stuffer.

Beautycounter Travel Companion – I’m always that person who ends up buying mini travel shampoo and conditioner once I get to my location but this comes in clutch beforehand… and it’s non-toxic so you don’t need to use stuff from the drugstore! No sulfates, parabens, etc. Perfect gift!

Love & Lemons Cookbook – Anthropologie has so many phenomenal cookbooks that can also double as coffee table books. I’ve been a huge fan of Love & Lemons’ blog for a while and the cookbook is 10x more gorgeous.

Pf Candle Co – I bought this for Dustin and he burned through all 3 very very quickly! They’re the best candles (in my own opinion) and I have gone through 4 of their Teakwood & Tobacco scents. I love.

Pocket Pharmacy – Although it’s $52, I’m adding it to the under $50 list because it’s close enough 😉 I bought these for friends and family two years ago and I think they make the best gifts. All of the essential essential oils you need when on the go. As someone who is always overheating, peppermint halo is my LIFESAVER. I also am just a fan of Saje Wellness overall.

I hope you guys enjoyed my small Black Friday post + gift guide! There are so many finds and not enough time or brain power to get through them all but these are some of my top picks. I also really love the websites Uncommon Goods and of course Etsy for when you want to get creative and find something within a specific budget. I hope this helped a bit and made your holiday a bit more exciting + less stressful.

Happy shopping!

xx
