Purely Chocolate Oatmeal

September _ 14

Breakfast, Wellness

One of my amazing and wicked awesome breakfasts I made a few days ago was a combo of my Purely Elizabeth Ancient Grain Oatmeal , ground chia seeds, cocoa powder and almond milk. Soaked overnight. I can’t even explain how cold, chunky yet super delicious it was.

As my first time trying the oatmeal, I decided to soak it overnight because we all know how delicious overnight oats are. And if you don’t, you need to try it. The most convenient breakfast ever, especially when you’re a college student like me in a hurry and wake up 15 minutes before you have to walk out the door.

Recipe type: Breakfast
Serves: 1
Ingredients
  • ½ cup Purely Elizabeth Ancient Grain Oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 5-10 drops liquid stevia
  • ½ banana

  • Handful of strawberries
Instructions
  1. Combine your oatmeal, chia seeds, almond milk and cocoa powder into a small tupperware container or mason jar. Something with a lid.
  2. Add liquid stevia or sugar to your liking. Let sit in fridge for at least 5-7 hours (aka overnight).
  3. In the morning, scoop into a bowl and slice banana, kiwi and strawberries to put on top.
  4. Serve and eat up!

Purely Elizabeth’s granola is not only gluten-free but also contains quinoa flakes, amaranth puffs, chia seeds, hemp seeds and flax seeds. 1/3 cup has 7g of protein and since I used 1/2 cup in my recipe like a usual serving of oatmeal, I’m sure I packed in a tiny bit more! 5g of fiber, certified organic and no artificial colors or additives. What more could you ask for?

Because I used ground chia seeds the pudding was not as thick as a regular chia pudding but I liked it much better. It was very smooth and a great consistency.

This breakfast is a great start to your day and even a good post-workout snack with all of the protein you receive. Feel free to top with a nut butter (almond would taste wonderful) to add an extra indulgent flavor. I loved the cocoa with the stevia making it taste like a fresh dessert for breakfast.

As my second line of Purely Elizabeth products to try, I was not let down. Not even surprised because I love every single product they sell. I’m a fanatic.
